New Patients

At White Dental Practice we like to find out as much about you, your previous dental care and expectations from us as we can. At your first examination we spend around 30 minutes with you to get to know you and your mouth. After you have been greeted by one of the welcome team one of the dental nurse will have a chat with you in the private consultation room.

We will ask about your medical history as some medical conditions or medication may affect the treatment that we offer you. We want to know what your previous dental experiences have been in the past and give you the time to ask any questions that you may have. Following the chat with the dental nurse, you will be invited into the treatment room by the dentist who will be looking after you that day.

At your initial appointment we will do a comprehensive examination of your jaw joints, soft tissues, teeth and gums. We will take any necessary x-rays we need to diagnose dental disease and often take photographs inside your mouth or of your smile. Sometimes we take impressions of your teeth to help us assess your teeth fully. We then look together at all of this on the computer screen to work out the best treatment plan for you.

Your Treatment Plan

At White Dental we understand that it is extremely important that you understand what treatment we are proposing and how much it will cost. We often break down treatment into phases, treating pain and disease first, then any preventative work needed to reduce the risks of further deterioration and finally the cosmetic dentistry.

No matter why we need to carry out dental treatment, we believe that it should always blend naturally and beautifully into your mouth. We never hide the likely costs involved and will send you a detailed written estimate within 48 hours of your initial appointment.

For more complicated treatment, we often invite you back for a second consultation to confirm what you would like to do and the best way to provide that for you. At all times you are free to ask questions and we positively encourage this, we want you to be completely happy and understand your treatment plan.
